Humanisms and Arts Review (HAR) is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. This is the most accommodating of licenses offered, recommended for maximum dissemination and use of licensed materials.
Manuscripts should be submitted by one of the authors through the online manuscript tracking system. Only electronic Word (.doc, .docx, .rtf) files can be submitted, and there is no page limit. Submissions by anyone other than an author will not be accepted. The submitting author takes responsibility for the manuscript during submission and peer review. For technical help, contact admin@hareview.com.
Manuscripts must be submitted with the understanding that they have not been published elsewhere and are only being considered by this journal. The submitting author is responsible for ensuring that the article’s publication has been approved by all co-authors and has all necessary institutional approvals. Only an acknowledgment from the editorial office officially establishes the date of receipt. Further correspondence and proofs will be sent to the authors before publication, unless otherwise indicated. It is a condition of submission that the authors permit editing of the manuscript for readability. All inquiries concerning the publication of accepted manuscripts should be addressed to admin@hareview.com.
The journal employs a plagiarism detection system. By submitting your manuscript, you accept that it may be screened for plagiarism against previously published works.
Submitted work will first be monitored by the available editor. If deemed suitable, it will be sent for blind review. Authors may be asked to revise their work before publication.
The journal does not need to seek permission from authors to republish or cite articles. Authors agree to transfer copyright to HAR upon publication. However, authors retain rights to content not included in the published article, such as datasets and codes. Authors must download the copyright form and email it to copyright@hareview.com after filling it out.
All submitted articles are subject to assessment and peer review to ensure editorial appropriateness and technical correctness. The assigned editor will consider if the manuscript meets minimum editorial standards. If within scope, the editor will ideally solicit at least two external peer reviewers, whose identities will remain anonymous. Decisions to reject are at the editor's discretion.
HAR charges 60$ for accepted articles. Other services, such as line editing and translation, incur additional fees.
The journal considers the following article types:
Research articles should present results of an original study, describing the research process and providing a thorough analysis of results. Systematic reviews may also be submitted.
A review article provides an overview of published literature in a particular subject area.
Authors are urged to modify their work according to our template. Note that the journal template is being updated as of January 2024 and is downloadable here.
Appeals of rejection decisions are rarely successful and require compelling arguments or new information. Appeals are handled less urgently than new submissions and may take several weeks to resolve. Provide a detailed justification and any new information in your appeal letter.
For complaints, authors are requested to write a detailed email to the publisher at admin@hareview.com.
Work submitted to HAR should be original and not previously submitted elsewhere. Authors must indicate their agreement on the statement of Conflict of Interest upon submission.
